The Prince of Wales plans to participate in the COP30 climate summit in South America in the coming weeks, as confirmed by royal officials.

Prince William and King Charles made a joint appearance on Thursday evening at a gathering preceding the climate summit, which is set to be held in the northern Brazilian city of Belem.

The royal pair were present at the Natural History Museum reception, marking an noteworthy combined presence at a climate summit preparatory event co-hosted by the British authorities.

Environmental Advocacy Commitment

King Charles has been a consistent supporter of protecting nature - and the Prince of Wales has taken on the baton, with his own Earthshot awards, which will be held in Brazil ahead of the climate conference.

Palace insiders have characterized Prince William's attendance at the next COP as taking on an significant responsibility in "environmental negotiations".

Previous Activities

The King and Prince of Wales, making a joint entrance in the royal vehicle, were introduced to guests including environmentalists, researchers, environmental activists, diplomats and politicians.

This involvement featured addresses in concert with French leader Macron of France and other international figures at the Ocean Finance Summit in Monaco in recent months.

The COP30 summit will dovetail with the the royal's Earthshot environmental awards, which will wrap up in the Brazilian city the day before he joins the climate conference on November 6th.

The monarch has been a key figure at earlier environmental conferences, giving the opening address in the United Arab Emirates for COP28, including the observation: "We are custodians of the planet, not its owners".
