The UK airline will offer free fast onboard internet by way of space-based agreement

Travelers on this carrier will soon enjoy fast connectivity in the air free of charge following a new partnership with SpaceX's satellite firm.

Complimentary plus High-speed Wifi Across the Board

The carrier revealed that this complimentary, “fast and dependable” internet provision from the satellite provider will be offered for travelers in economy, business, and premium cabins as of the coming month.

Broad Implementation Across Several Airlines

The parent organization for British Airways, International Airlines Group, confirmed it had reached an deal involving SpaceX for providing connectivity coverage for more than 500 planes across its airlines, including the Irish airline, the Spanish carrier, plus Vueling.

Smooth Wifi from Boarding through Arrival

The airline explained that this introduction of the technology was part of a seven billion pound “modernization” program and will deliver smooth internet service for passengers from boarding to landing, even when they are flying above seas and isolated areas.

Travelers can connect multiple electronics while won't need to require a separate access code.

“Gamechanging for us as well as travelers, enhancing onboard service in the air on BA through providing passengers smooth wifi from gate to gate.”

Present Wifi Offerings

Limited internet service is currently offered to British Airways passengers on nearly all of their aircraft through its .air system.

Members of BA’s frequent flyer program may send messages and text-only emails in the air without paying, while travelers looking to access music, video, and movies during their flight who are not flying in business or first may pay between four pounds ninety-nine to £21.99 per internet package.

Latest Improvements for British Airways

BA's leadership are focusing to improve operations back following a period of financial constraints, technology issues, strikes, plus large-scale layoffs.

BA stated that implementation with artificial intelligence had helped the airline to bring their on-time performance at peak performance since 2012.

Financial Results

In August, BA announced a jump in earnings during H1 of the year, assisting IAG’s results higher.

The group will announce its results for the three months this summer shortly.

Additional SpaceX Agreements

The airline's update comes days following wireless operator the telecom firm revealed it was partnering alongside Starlink to enhance cellular service in the countryside in Britain, enabling customers to easily connect phones through satellites if there is no regular cellular service can be found.
